    1. There’s a meme saying that when the govt promised 100 000 jobs, they meant there will be 100 000 jobs left

    2. I would love to see a deep dive into the details behind these stats and see how comparable they actually are. I think number of employed divided by number of working age population would be a better number?

      Gemini summary on Mexico:

In Mexico, to be officially counted as unemployed (desempleo abierto), an individual must be 15 or older, have worked 0 hours in the reference week, be actively searching for work, and be available to start. Due to the large informal economy, many people working minimal hours or in subsistence jobs are classified as employed, resulting in a low official rate.

    3. I don’t mind some reforms on the immigration policy…But this is clearly not the time to think about that while your country has such a huge unemployment rate; fix the economy/jobs situation first ffs…
And I am quite sure that the immigration’s “issue” will partially fix itself once everyone will have a stable job.

I’m feeling dirty while holding two jobs.

Well, another is part time and i’ve already resigned from it.

    5. There was recently article about this. The native’s unemployment rate has been stable at about 7.8% while immigrant (born abroad) unemployment rate has doubled from 10% to 20% from 2023 to 2026.

So it seems that unemployment issue is also (at least partially) an immigration issue.

    6. FYI France policies in Macron last terms has been removing a lot of people from official unemployment statistics.

Finns never bring up the fact that it’s impossible to find a job unless your dad knows someone that has a company, basically a lot of nepotism. Finnish employers only like to hire their own friends

People should really move more. The Poland and Czechia rates are bordering on unhealthly low Full Employment. I refuse to believe unemployed person in Finland couldn’t land a job in one of those countries. For some reason people utilize very little this key pillar of EU and usually just relia on complaining locally.
