Jesuits’ team raises funds for refugee services
An 83-year-old Jesuit priest was among those who completed the 21km Malta Walkathon on Sunday.
Fr Oliver Borg Olivier was part of a 26-strong Jesuits & Friends’ Malta Marathon team consisting of priests and lay people who raised almost €22,000 for the Jesuit Refugee Service.
He walked across the finish line in Sliema at a brisk pace that belied his age.
Fr Borg Olivier goes for walks regularly and is no stranger to long-distance walking.
Fr Patrick Magro SJ ran the half marathon, while Fr Christopher Vella SJ and Fr Michael Debono SJ joined Fr Borg Olivier on the Walkathon.
