Poland’s gas transmission operator, Gaz-System, has launched public consultations for the nation’s first ten-year plan to develop a dedicated hydrogen transmission system for 2026–2035.
The draft plan outlines the strategic directions for building a domestic hydrogen network and establishing vital links to emerging European hydrogen infrastructure. As the legally designated operator for hydrogen transport, Gaz-System aims to create a market-accessible network through dialogue with producers, consumers, and distributors.
The development follows Poland’s updated Energy Law, which tasks the operator with meeting future demand for low-carbon fuel. According to the company, the preparation of this plan will serve as the foundation for hydrogen infrastructure construction, providing a development impulse for this sector of the economy.
Market participants and stakeholders have until 13 March 2026 to submit feedback on the proposal. Once finalised and approved by the Energy Regulatory Office, the plan will dictate the scale and pace of hydrogen investment across the country over the next decade.
