Operator builds tiered proposition on Telavox Platform, aiming to move beyond PBX-centric UCaaS and embed AI into business SIMs

Three Sweden is seeking to expand its addressable B2B market with a tiered, mobile-first communications offer built on the Telavox platform, shifting away from the traditional focus on full PBX deployments. The operator has launched “3Koppla”, a two-tier service designed to sit directly on top of existing business mobile subscriptions.

Rather than requiring companies to commit to a complete unified communications as a service (UCaaS) solution from the outset, the entry tier adds AI and collaboration features directly to business SIMs.

Under the structure, 3Koppla Light provides a mobile-first subscription with AI and collaboration capabilities layered onto standard mobile services, while 3Koppla Complete offers a full UCaaS solution for organisations requiring advanced call handling and administrative functionality.

The approach reflects a broader challenge for operators in the B2B voice market: most revenue has historically been concentrated among customers ready to adopt PBX or cloud PBX systems, limiting the overall addressable base.

“The biggest limiter in B2B voice isn’t technology – it’s addressable market,” said Telavox Platform VP Nordics Bjorn Palm. “Three proved that a mobile-first tier can unlock the broader base and then grow from there, while creating room for AI by default in SIM subscriptions. You may trade a bit of blended ARPU, but you gain a much bigger revenue pool.”

By anchoring the entry point in mobile subscriptions, Three Sweden aims to create a progression model in which customers can upgrade in-life as their requirements evolve. The model is designed to extend communications services across the wider SME base, rather than targeting only businesses prepared to replace or install a full PBX system.

“With 3Koppla we launched a scalable B2B communications proposition that fits how businesses actually work today: mobile-first, with a clear upgrade path,” said Three Sweden CCO Johan Hörberg (above).

The operator retains ownership of the customer relationship and go-to-market strategy, while Telavox provides the underlying cloud-based platform. The structure allows Three to bundle communications and collaboration capabilities with its mobile offering, embedding AI-enabled services at subscription level.

The launch builds on a partnership first announced in October 2025, when Three selected Telavox’s cloud communications platform to strengthen its business portfolio. At the time, the companies positioned the collaboration as a way to combine Three’s mobile footprint with a scalable cloud PBX environment.

Telavox said it will share further details of the Three Sweden rollout at Mobile World Congress, including go-to-market considerations and lessons for other service providers exploring similar strategies.

    UK expansion signals

While Telavox’s core market remains the Nordics – although e& is a customer – the company is also investing in UK infrastructure as it seeks to scale internationally. The vendor has expanded its footprint across two UK data centres to support local service delivery and meet regulatory requirements. The investment is positioned as a response to evolving UK compliance expectations, including Ofcom requirements around infrastructure resilience and independence.

Telavox CTO Filip Olsson, CTO said the facilities form “a key pillar” of the company’s 2026 growth strategy in the UK, providing local capacity, predictable latency and in-country data processing for regulated sectors such as healthcare and financial services.
