The internet has ruined me based on what my brain told me that was a picture of.
It is quite an astonishing view and picture.

I’m surprised this is the darkest place, not some place in Alaska.

Let’s see the one you didn’t enhance with Photoshop

Even in rural MN you get nights where you can see with no moon. JS people act like this is crazy talking about the exposure from the camera.

is this what it looks like to the naked eye?

btw I have a brand new video about how to shoot and edit milky way images similar to this one! [https://youtu.be/uynSGu24IxA?si=LxLuLWZ__MmIaxCF](https://youtu.be/uynSGu24IxA?si=LxLuLWZ__MmIaxCF)

I’ve never been somewhere that dark before, can you see it this vividly with the naked eye? Or does it just look so vivid because of the camera? Basically, was OP able to see the stars exactly as the camera depicts? Sorry if it’s a dumb question, I’ve only ever seen it dark enough to where the Milky Way looked like a cloud.

I’ve read by starlight at the Tarryall wilderness area in Colorado. A great location on the east cost is Cherry Springs State Park in PA. Absolutely beautiful skies.

Bullshit. The “darkest place in the U.S.” does NOT have enough starlight to see your way to hike at night. Only a close-to-full moon night is bright enough. And the night sky in the photo only exists in long exposure photographs. The milky way does not EVER look like that IRL.

cast doubt, this is either a full moon night for you to walk up visibly and/or an overexposed night camera.

What up? Were 3 cool guys looking for other cool guys who want to come hang out in our party mansion. Nothing sexual.

Question…can you see the Milky Way around you at this when it’s this dark?
