Sixteen events spread out over an entire country? Why is this map porn? There are more Culvers in Wisconsin.

  2. Thank you for compiling this. You’re one of the few sources I have found that is giving visual context to which regions/states have been affected.

I wouldn’t describe this as a whole nation in chaos. That’s an overstatement and judgmental. The data doesn’t support such an assertion.

  4. What’s with all the sensational posts? Aside from karma farming ofc. No doubt CNGJ is having a violent outburst but the whole of Mexico being in chaos is an insane thing to say hours after this happened. It feels similar to people posting about the LA riots last summer when really it was like the same few spots.

Edit: also anytime I call out sensationalist posts, I get tons of comments acting like I support whatever is going on. I’m just saying be responsible with your messaging

  5. Most of it’s concentrated in Jalisco, particularly in Guadalajara. The same thing happened in Culiacán, Sinaloa when El Chapo’s son was napped. The whole country is most certainly not in chaos.

  6. I do wonder if any other groups took advantage of the chaos and/or there are agent saboteurs that are making this action appear even bigger than it is. There were certainly a lot of disinformation stories being passed around immediately, and like everything these days, parsing reality from non-reality is harder and harder.

  7. Damn, my abuelito’s family is from Mazatlán, Sinaloa! Crazy to think some family there is experiencing that

  8. Violence means setting shit on fire just to be clear correct? Lots and lots and lots and LOTS of free fodder for ignorant and anxious right wing dipshits here in the states to (without any merit) claim Americans are being taken hostage country-wide

I can’t jump to any conclusions on this data alone — I would need context. Like how many “incidents” are there on a normal day, in a country known for hanging dead bodies from overpasses …

  10. What are the odds the US is funding this (wouldn’t be the first time the US funded cartels) so that they can go in and then help regulate the border even more?

Looks like mostly in Jalisco territory then, going off of 2024 maps of cartel territory.

It’s really good PR to take your revenge on the civilian population. Really makes them like you and want to keep you around.

    costco did not burn
colima did nit havr a car burning that was from a mechanical failure.
    the rest happened

    at least 15 dead cops

  14. I keep hearing that the cartels have issued some sort of ultimatum and if it isn’t met, they’ll start going house to house executing people. One thing I saw said they’ll start targeting tourists, but this sounds like a bunch of bullshit, considering the cartels make money from tourism and something like this could very well draw foreign military involvement.

Is this all true or just misinformation?
