Peppa Pig bil-Malti is taking a major step towards inclusivity, with Season 2 set to feature sign language interpretation for the very first time.
From today, Monday 23rd February, the much-loved children’s series will begin airing episodes that include Maltese Sign Language, making the show more accessible to children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
English subtitles will also be introduced in May 2026, widening access even further for non-Maltese-speaking audiences.
The move marks a significant moment for local children’s television. By progressively integrating Maltese, English and Maltese Sign Language, the series is becoming one of the first children’s TV shows in Malta to embrace all three official languages in its programming.
Media Exclusive said the integration of sign language forms part of its continued commitment to making both entertainment and education more inclusive and widely available, promoting equal opportunities for learning and connection.
Families can catch Peppa Pig bil-Malti every weekday at 6.10am and 7.10am on TVMi+, 4.10pm on TVM, with repeats on Saturday from 6.00am on TVMi.
The initiative is being supported by Aġenzija Sapport.
