Three people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries Monday morning, according to deputies.
POLAND, Maine — Deputies are investigating a that happened around 7:50 a.m. in Poland Monday morning, according to a social media post from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.
The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Maine Street (Route 26) in Poland.
Graeme Kaplan, 18, from Cumberland Center, was driving a Dodge Durango south on Maine Street when the SUV crossed the double yellow center lines, according to initial investigations by deputies. Kaplan’s SUV collided head-on with a Subaru Outback driven by Rebecca Woodbury, 47, from Raymond.
Kaplan, Woodbury, and a 16-year-old male passenger in the Durango were taken to Central Maine Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Maine Street was closed for about an hour while emergency personnel investigated the crash and cleared the area.
Additional support was provided by the Mechanic Falls Police Department and the fire and rescue teams from Poland and Oxford.
The crash remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
The crash happened before snow started in the Poland area on Monday.
