The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command announced the start of joint exercises with Canada and Denmark, which will take place in Alaska and Greenland through mid-March, APA reports.

“NORAD and U.S. Northern Command will conduct a joint field exercise, ARCTIC EDGE 2026 (AE26), in locations ranging from Alaska to Greenland from February 23 to March 13, 2026,” according to a statement on the U.S. Northern Command website. “AE26 includes participation from Denmark, Canada, the Alaska National Guard, and interagency partners, including the FBI and the U.S. Coast Guard.”

The exercises are designed to “increase readiness, demonstrate capabilities, and improve interoperability” among U.S. partners in the Arctic region. Participants will be tasked with practicing defense against cruise missiles, countering drones, and practicing Arctic survival and travel skills.
