  1. For the people that hate on the BOM, take note – they predicted the north western suburbs would get significant rain and flash flooding.

I’m in the north western suburbs and can confirm it is absolutely heaving down and there is absolutely going to be flash flooding.

  2. We quite often see severe thunderstorm warnings in and around Melbourne, sometimes accompanied by an emergency warning like this, but it’s not often we see them upgraded to the ‘Very Dangerous Thunderstorm’ designation.

The severe-warned cell over the Sunbury area dropped 20mm on the airport in about 10 minutes, so I’d be watching out for potential flash flooding if you’re in the outlined path.

I just walked into my spare room / office and it has gotten very dark. I’m in the eastern burbs so I expect the rain is going to come down pretty hard here soon

  5. I very badly want to head down to the Victoria St rail underpass in Footscray and see what luxury car it has claimed as it’s victim today.

  6. Yep been heavy since 2pm today in the NW, lost power as well for 20 minutes. Hope everyone is safe and dry.

  7. I’m in that red zone, and had moderate rain for 10mins then nothing. No flooding. No mayhem. No camera crews. Is there more to come or was that it?
