  1. EU needs protection from traitors like him and orban asap. If we dont do anything, putins orders to this traitors destroys us

  2. He can’t forbid us from buying energy from the Slovakian grid operator, according to ENTSO-E rules.

He can still block emergency assistance which Ukrenergo (UA grid operator) says we have used very infrequently in the past. So they reckon we’ll be fine.

Fico can still get fucked, tho 🙂

  3. It’s a war crime for Russia to target civilian infrastructure, and especially in such extreme temperatures. Slovakia deserves sanctions for this.

  4. Meanwhile regular people of the country raised more than 1.2 mio to help Ukrainians with heating this winter and donations spiked tremendously after fucker announced he stops with electricity.

The pumps that supply the oil runs on electricity. Cutting off the power will definetly not solve the issue.

  6. Hey, Slovaks, I wanna hear how your people feel about Fico’s government.

I know Reddit users are more Urban and _generally_ to the left compared to Fico’s voter base, but hey ho, you’re the closest thing to a barometer I got

  7. This is incredible. This piece of…. is essentially wanting to be an accessory to attempted genocide.

As a hungarian I do not approve what these two traitors are doing… The EU does not have a clause against traitors and seditionists, as it is not a real empire (yet)

Well, since now both  Slovakia and Hungary have to ship gas and oil through ships, all it takes is for Poland Hungary and Croatia to stop gas flows to them and it is game over. Very smart for two landlocked countries to make enemies on all sides…

  10. as slovak, he should be jailed for fucking treason. or taken to Haag for mass murder (killing Ukrainians in hospitals without power)

  11. There should be some way to invalidate the treaties when there isn’t the barest minimum of compliance with common policies. We simply can’t have these people in the EU, realism goes both ways.

  12. This headline is false. Fico can’t unilaterally disconnect Slovak and Ukrainian grids because both are part of ENTSO-E and CESA. Any disconnect or new connection requires months of approval and testing by grid operators and rules ban doing it overnight like this as it would lead to grid instability.

Fico specifically forbids the state grid op to supply *additional* power to Ukraine as Ukenergo has requested in the past, but the SK-UA interconnector isn’t large, being a single 400 kV line, so while during times of need every bit counts, it was never a relevant assistance.

Thus, it’s typical populist strongman move: Bold words, very little substance.

    edit:

Yep, [Slovakia had electricity flow with Ukraine today.](https://www.energy-charts.info/charts/power/chart.htm?l=en&c=SK&source=cbpf_saldo&stacking=stacked_absolute&interval=week&year=2026&week=09)

  13. Ok, if they’re all going to be a shower of cunts, Ukraine should bomb the shit out of every pipeline going to Europe in Russia. Completely erase them to the point it will take decades to restore them.

If they’re going to be punished for cutting access to Russian oil, go all in on cutting it.

  14. Something must be cracking on the russian side. Both Hungary and Slovakia are going into overdrive lately regarding Ukraine

Man the EU need an expulsion clause. Think how much better everything would be without the putin states in it…

  16. I am from Ukraine, and I do not blame ordinary Hungarians or Slovaks for what their governments are doing. I know very well how Pootin’s professional political strategists and PR specialists are able to deceive people by installing their puppets. The only thing I want to remind you is that even if you like what your politicians say and then they tell you that you need to be friends with Russia, they are 100% corrupt politicians, because no one will love Russia for free. In other words, even the most beautiful and simple promises will not be fulfilled if Pootin says so. And now the Slovak authorities have decided to lose the money they earned from trade with Ukraine just to remain Pootin’s vassal. We all know what is preventing Slovakia from buying cheaper and higher quality oil from the Saudis.
