  1. It’s funny that people used to say “there are 4 types of economies, developing, developed, japan and Argentina” when in today’s world Australia is the real outlier of economy vs what it offers to its citizens

  2. As an Australian, I’m surprised by this. Not that our economy is less complex than other developed nations, but that it’s ranked lower than many developing nations.

    The reasons are obvious: we are over-reliant on resources (mining) and agriculture, which are great for $$$, but as a result, manufacturing and research in many areas have been de-prioritised over the recent decades.

  3. I know it’s because of outsourcing, but it doesn’t stop being surprising how complex the Mexican economy is!
