The Tricolor Wolf Movement announces the organization of a peaceful demonstration on Monday, March 2, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., in front of the Russian Embassy in Bucharest. The purpose of the protest is to draw attention to the phenomenon of disinformation and the promotion of narratives considered contrary to the national interest in the Romanian public space.

The organizers claim that certain public figures and politicians promote messages favorable to Russia, which would manipulate “Romanians of good faith”, it would undermine trust in institutions and instrumentalize national and religious symbols for political purposes. In this context, participants are invited to come with the tricolor, placards, symbolic trumpets and cans, under the slogan “March to Moscow”, it is stated in a press release sent by the organizers.

The chosen date has a special meaning, according to the organizers: on March 2nd, 34 years have passed since the beginning of the war on the Dniester. On this occasion, there will be a moment of commemoration, by lighting candles, in memory of the Bessarabian heroes who fought in 1992 for the defense of the Republic of Moldova.

The statement also states that the protest is directed against messages that:

– undermines trust between citizens and in the authorities;

– use religious and national symbols for political purposes;

– I support the distancing of Romania from the European Union and NATO;

– disputes the need for a solid national defense;

– relativizes Russia’s aggression in the region;

– promotes the abandonment of the Republic of Moldova in the face of external pressures.

“We protest against the Russian trumpets and cans that manipulate the Romanians. We take back our tricolor. We commemorate the fallen heroes in the Dniester war ’92. Toy trumpets, cans and placards are welcome. Candles to commemorate the heroes are also welcome. (…) Our message is clear: Romania belongs to the European democratic space”, say the organizers, who state that the demonstration will be peaceful.

The public voice of the Lupii Tricolori civic group is Adrian Băzăvan, who shouted “March to Moscow!” on several occasions to the supporters of Călin Georgescu, at various protests over time.

Lupii Tricolori, the group he belongs to, is a relatively new civic organization that has become visible both online and in the public space through a strong patriotic message, centered on national values and symbols such as the tricolor. The members of the group promote an active patriotism, which is not limited to festivities, but involves civic involvement and the defense of the national interest.
