The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with ambassadors and diplomatic representatives accredited in Kosovo to discuss the implementation of the Law on Foreigners and the Law on Vehicles.
This marks the second meeting of this format since Kosovo took steps toward the full implementation of these two laws on January 15 of this year. Kurti had met with the diplomatic corps just one day after the launch of the information period regarding the laws.
According to a statement from the Government of Kosovo, Kurti informed international representatives about the process of informing citizens about these two laws and other activities undertaken to ensure their full implementation.
The full implementation of the laws will begin on March 15, and until then an information campaign will be carried out so that, according to the Government, every foreign national has accurate information about the laws, “so that they are aware of their rights and responsibilities.”
The full implementation of the Law on Foreigners may affect the functioning of Serbian health and educational institutions, as individuals who do not possess Kosovo-issued documents must obtain a work permit or a professional license, for which applications must be submitted to the Kosovo Employment Agency.
