Spiropali: Mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia, the only stable basis for a healthy relationship

Albanian Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali said that the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is the solution for “long-term stability in the region.”

After meeting with Kosovo’s chief diplomat, Glauk Konjufca, she said in a joint press conference that mutual recognition is “the only stable basis.”

“Dialogue remains the path to a lasting solution and long-term stability in the region. But stability is not built on the denial of reality. The reality is that Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state. Mutual recognition is the only sustainable basis for a healthy relationship between the two states and a region free from inherited tensions,” she said.

Spiropali said that “Serbia must come to terms with this reality not as an act of pressure, but as a necessary step towards true normalization.”
