To be clear, Croatia is happy to supply non-Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia at fair rates via Adria.
Croatian Minister of Economy Šušnjar said on Twitter:
>Croatia will not allow Central Europe’s fuel supply to be endangered. We are ready to help solve the acute disruption, within EU law and OFAC regulations. No one should be left without fuel.
>But honestly, here’s the lesson @EU_Commission. The Adria pipeline is ready, so there are no technical excuses left for staying tied to Russian crude for any EU country. A barrel bought from Russia may appear cheaper to some countries, but helps fund war and attacks on Ukrainian people.
It’s time to stop that war profiteering.
In fact, Šušnjar has revealed that non-Russian oil is already flowing towards Slovakia and Hungary, and has likely reached them by now.
Local media reports that he said:
>We are investing for our own needs, but also far beyond that for the needs of our neighbours and landlocked countries. As for Janaf [Adria], it is a safe and reliable partner with competitive prices in both relative and absolute terms, especially as the transport route via Janaf is much shorter than any other pipeline for our friends in Hungary and Slovakia.
>Regarding prices, they are several times lower than via the Družba pipeline; however, other issues arise here, namely the price of Russian oil, which is significantly cheaper than what the rest of us in the EU are procuring.
Apparently, until early April, 7 tankers are scheduled to dock in Croatia and supply the pipeline, all for the benefit of MOL Group, Hungarian oil company.

A little backstory is needed here to provide the domestic Croatian context.
MOL bought our national oil company INA back in 2008. They did so under VERY suspicious circumstances, thanks to our own prime minister Ivo Sanader (may he rot in hell). That traitor son of a bitch later ended up in jail. Why is INA still in Hungarian ownership I wish I knew. It can’t be legal, and the Croatian public is still outraged.
Anyway, the agreement was that MOL would keep Croatian oil refineries active. MOL broke that promise resulting in almost complete annihilation of Croatian oil production. The Hungarians are treating us like a colony AGAIN.
Plus that fat fuck Orban is waving flag of pre-Trianon greater Hungary that includes Croatian territory. This makes a lot of us angry!!
Even though the decision to block the Russian oil came from Bruxelles, I think the current Croatian government is very happy to oblige.

Hahahahahaha, well done croatia!
Orban is cooked
MOL Group just DEMANDED that Croatia to let the russian oil through its port… They gave a 24 hour deadline.
This is absolute lunacy even from Hungary.
