Albanian MP in Macedonia with national flag on suit is reprimanded by Prime Minister Mickoski and given the Macedonian flag

North Macedonia’s Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has gifted the Macedonian flag to Albanian MP Riad Shaqiri, after he noticed that he was wearing only the Albanian flag.
During the discussion in the parliamentary question session, MP Shaqiri responded to the prime minister by saying that he received the small Albanian flag as a gift from Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and that he would also keep the Macedonian one if Mickoski gave it to him.

“I hope that the next time you come to work in the Macedonian Parliament, alongside the Albanian flag to which you belong, you will also hold the Macedonian one, since you receive a salary from this country and from these citizens you receive it,” said Mickoski.
While MP Shaqiri responded by saying that he is proud to be Albanian and that he would keep the Macedonian one if the Prime Minister gave it to him.
“It is a fact that I have my national symbol and I am proud to be Albanian. The Prime Minister of Albania gave it to me. When you bring me the flag of North Macedonia, I will come to the podium with the same one at the next meeting,” said Shaqiri, who also placed the Macedonian flag on his suit.
