I remember being a kid and dad taking me to the local TAB with him to place bets on Makybe Diva. And of course her Melbourne Cup wins. May she rest in peace

27 is a good run for a racing horse.
I had to put down my old mate ex-racehorse at 25 a few weeks ago, so colic at 27 is a very good innings. She would have wanted for nothing.
Colic doesn’t discriminate, and kills anywhere between 1-2% of the total horse population every year. She was one of the greats.
