Looks like they’re set for
WWIII
Good.
Now we need to start taking our land down there more seriously and stop watching other people go and take it.
Who said sending those kids convicted for drug cultivation to Antarctica was a bad thing?
I bet he bakes cookies too
And the taste ?
Oh man. I became a sparkie because I wanted to go to Antarctica and now I don’t want to go there anymore 😅
diesel powered fruit and vegetables
Ew, cucumbers.
Joke, all fresh food is good.
Still hate cukes, though.
Awesome, but there is a caveat; hydroponically grown produce is less nutritious because nitrate nitrogen is taken up all the time, increases biomass but not secondary metabolites. So those fruit and veg will be a lot of water, unfortunately. Still an amazing achievement for such a challenging situation
So we’ve not even made life on frozen fresh water viable, can’t colonise the seafloor or the sea surface without resupply from or returning to land, and the rich talk up living on Mars?
I know a hydro farm that gets that sort of yield from a single square meter?
130 kg does not seem like a lot for an entire year. Certainly not enough to feed the number of people in that room more than little sprinkle here or there.
