With winter hopefully going along with it, February’s business is coming to a close, and March is set to start off right, with high hopes that some warmer weather is set to come along with it.
Local organizations, businesses and even the villages themselves are hoping to capitalize on the gap between Valentine’s Day and Easter, with St. Patrick’s Day being right in the middle of it. Here are some big events that you can expect to see in the next month or so during the month of March:
• A ribbon cutting will be held on March 4 for the St. Marys Dairy Queen Grill & Chill at around 10 a.m. by the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce.
• The Heritage Trails Park District will be holding their Spring Forward Cabin Fever Hike on March 8 from 1-3 p.m. for everyone to enjoy at 16585 County Road
• Hudson Jewelers will be holding a “buying event” for people to sell any valuable items such as jewelry, watches and even war memorabilia from March 10-12.
• The Otterbein St. Marys SeniorLife Community will be holding a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on March 17 between the hours of 1-3 p.m.
• The Creedence Clearwater & Linda Ronstadt Tribute Band “Bayou Blue” will be playing at the Grand Opera House from 2-5 p.m. on March 29.
• A Kids Paint & Sip event will take place at 476 S. Washington St. in New Bremen on March 7, with plans to hold it between the hours of 9-11 a.m.
• The Bicycle Museum of America will be hosting the First Missionary Church group during the LifeGroup trip on March 10.
• The New Bremen New Knoxville Rotary Club will be hosting their Rotary Auction on March 21 at the New Bremen American Legion Hall, with plans to open the doors at around 6 p.m.
• The Minster Journeyman’s Club will be holding their Bowling Bash benefit at Community Lanes on March 7, with plans to start check-ins at around noon.
• While Community Lanes will be holding events throughout the month of March, a special one is planned for March 14 in order to hold an official St. Patrick’s Day celebration at around 7:30 p.m.
• Sponsored by the Minster Journeyman’s Club and the Knights of Columbus Council 2158, the Luck of the Irish Dance is set to take place on March 15 at around 7 p.m.
• The Minster Sophomore Girl Scouts Troop 20231 will host their annual Daddy Daughter Dance at the Minster High School Gym from 1-2:30 p.m. on March 15
• On March 6, downtown Wapakoneta will be holding their First Friday event, which is set to be a Murder Mystery theme for people to uncover.
• The Sip, Shop & Shamrock Boutique Bus Bash is set to take place in Wapakoneta on March 14 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
• The Creative Marketplace will be holding classes and other workshops at their location on Lunar Drive, some of which include Succulent Making, stained and crushed glass, and many more.
Auglaize County Fairgrounds
• The Moon City Preview Show is set to take place on March 14 at around 8:30 a.m., done in part by the Auglaize County Cattlemen’s Association and County Line Ag. Services.
• Pray of Auglaize County will be hosting a Free Breakfast and Good Giveaway on March 21 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
