In the latest episode of the “Arena e Yjeve” podcast, the guest was the spokesperson for the Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOK), Kushtrim Krasniqi. This episode is made possible with the support of the official sponsor Exfis.
Krasniqi recounted the emotions that gripped sports journalists at the moment when Kosovo was accepted as a full member of UEFA and FIFA.
He stressed the importance of Kosovo’s admission, recalling how much the national team and players could have lost if this had not happened.
“When it was all over, I said, even if I die, I don’t care, because somehow there’s some kind of liberation, some dream that you’ve suffered for, working as a journalist, we’ve suffered so much, playing only in Kosovo, not being able to go out and cheer for Switzerland, England, and these, normal Albania.”
“I was calculating how many players we had lost by then. Imagine if we had been accepted in 2016 or had been delayed another six years how many players we would have lost.”
“It had developed so much drama, that Swiss guy from the Swiss Federation came out and spoke, and acceptance was fading,” Krasniqi confessed, among other things.
