A 24-year-old Kosovar injured a 30-year-old from North Macedonia with a knife during an argument in Embrach, Zurich, on Friday evening.
The perpetrator fled the scene, but was arrested approximately two hours later in the canton of Schwyz, albinfo.ch reports.
The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance after the attack, Zurich cantonal police reported on Saturday. The altercation took place at around 17:50 p.m. at Embrach train station.
According to initial findings, the incident was preceded by an argument between two women and a man, sda.ch reports. When another man joined the argument, the Kosovar man allegedly attacked the other man with a knife.
The exact motive and sequence of events are the subject of ongoing investigations.
The public prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation. Access to the train station was temporarily restricted due to the incident.
