Malta’s newest rugby academy is offering a fun and safe environment to all children who want to get active within a sports team environment, with applications to join open all year-round and sessions free of charge until June 2026.

Established in 2017, UM Wolves RFC is Malta’s newest rugby club and is affiliated to the University of Malta.  It is Malta’s most exciting and fastest growing rugby club, with its men’s and women’s rugby both being crowned as local champions in 2025.

The club’s Youth Academy, now in its second full season, offers a fun way of allowing children to be more physically active within a team environment.

Rugby is a sport built around inclusivity, discipline, and fun: we emphasise on all three of those points by offering a community where children can enjoy themselves in a safe setting under the guidance of qualified coaches.

Rugby is a contact sport, but the level of contact at our Youth Academy sessions is limited, controlled, and done using specialised equipment to ensure that it is as safe as can be without eliminating this fun aspect of the sport.

This is a great opportunity for children to make new friends and gain new experiences while learning important life skills such as how to work in a team.

Training sessions take place every Wednesday between 18:00 and 19:30 at St Martin’s College in Swatar, and is open to all children aged between 9 years old and 15 years old.  Sessions until the end of June 2026 are free of charge.
