RHINELANDER, Wis. (WJFW) – It can be hard to find fun activities during the winter. Looking to fill the void, the Blind Pig in Rhinelander held the event on Boom Lake on Saturday. The tournament cost $15 per team.
Frank Kovac, the Activities Manager, said people of all ages were welcome.
“The morning of, we have our turkeys packaged, we got big, small and medium,” Kovac said, “So, if the kids want to come out here, small ones, then we’re just making it happen.”
Kovac said that the Blind Pig want to continue the event. Last year, they had a smaller turkey bowling event to get the logistics of how to run it.
Next year, he said that they want to add in a fundraiser.
“This year, we’re just trying to get the event to run smooth and we plan next year to do a little fundraising for a couple of our regional veteran associations,” Kovac said.
Over 100 people were in attendance. Participant Jeff Devor said he had a great time.
“Blind Pig does a great job,” Devor commented.
