Bold of Coles to do this while they still have a whole other criminal trial before the courts.

They were so preoccupied with whether or not they could do something that they didn’t stop to think about whether or not they should.

They’re actually quite nice, with spicy seasoning and even jalapeños baked in. I had it toasted.

  4. I tried the Shapes version last year. Soggy/raw, super sweet and savoury at the same time – not nice. Not sure I’ll bother with these.

It’s product variations like these that make me think the people in charge don’t look at the rest of us as people.

“Roll them in chip dust. Maybe they’ll like that”

I mean I’m not saying “no” but I’m definitely saying “not if I’m sober”

  7. I loved the Special Burger Sauce hot cross buns with real pickle pieces. I got so many of those on Coles at clearances prices. These sound even better.

    I enjoyed them.
Certainly more than any of the ludicrously sweet flavors on offer.

They don’t pretend to be traditional, but they were tasty. And given I give no shits about religion, who am I to complain about whether my heathen buns are traditional?

I swear they already had that flavour combo without the Doritos branding attached. At this point just sell it was a regular bun/roll flavour and be done with it

Just so many preservatives and chemicals and processed filler crap honestly is it any wonder we’re all getting cancer.

  11. Excuse me, I seem to have puked all over my phone, my lap, the chair, the floor and possibly my cat.

  12. If they ain’t cinnamon and dried fruits, they ain’t hot cross buns, no matter how tasty they may be.

  13. I do not understand why they have to use hot cross buns for this sort of thing. Just make the damn flavours.

This is how the different members of the [choice.com.au taste testing panel rated it:](https://www.choice.com.au/food-and-drink/bread-cereal-and-grains/bread/articles/not-cross-bun-taste-test)

    – It’s an offense to mankind.
    – I think it’s worse than the Coles burger sauce one.
    – It’s very spicy, quite salty, entirely unpleasant.
    – I don’t like it but I don’t hate it as much as I thought I would.
    – Would I buy it? God no.
    – It does taste like cheesy jalapeño, so if that’s what you’re after in a hot cross bun, then (a) go for it, and (b) good god why would you want that.
    – Flavour is beyond gross.
    – It’s not a hot cross bun, but if you gave it to me heated up and said “this is a cheesy jalapeño bread” I’d be like mmmm.
    – Tastes a bit like sick.
    – They’re a zero out of 10 and they go in the bin.
    – You could use these for chemical warfare.

  15. Pretty sure posting this is exactly what they want, people getting triggered and now I’ve seen a ad for Doritos courtesy of a Reddit post. Then I buy cornchips again their brand will be at the forefront of what I’m thinking of purchasing.

At first it sounds feral, but I guess if it’s a savoury bun could be quite nice

  17. I thought they would be rubbish but they are super tasty. Not sweetness at all, like others have said just a cheesy bread with jalapenos.

  18. Could have been a hit if it were nacho salsa cheese like those pull-apart pizza buns. Could be indulgent!

Ok, dont get hooked on the ‘easter’ association. Just appreciate the fun recipes that aren’t available all year round.
