The Germany women’s national team started the qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup with a 5-0 thrashing of Slovenia on Tuesday.
The Germans took a 2-0 lead into the break after goals from Vivien Endemann and Elisa Senss.

Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger had to deny Zara Kramzar the 2-1 shortly before half-time, but it didn’t take long for Germany to find the net again in the second half as Linda Dallmann added a third in the 48th minute.
Debutant Larissa Mühlhaus and Lea Schüller completed the win in front of 19,169 spectators.
“We got off to a very good start in both halves and brought a lot of energy to the game. Lots of goals, debutants directly scoring,” captain Giulia Gwinn told broadcaster ARD.
She, however, criticized “a lot of sloppiness in our play, which we need to work on.”
Coach Christian Wück was overall satisfied with the performance: “We established a clear lead fairly quickly and added to it in the second half.”

Germany will hope to carry the good momentum into their second-round match against Norway on Saturday.
They are in Group A4, which also includes Austria. Only the group winners qualify directly for the tournament in Brazil next year.
