“Rama and Vučić are seeking EU integration with new rules,” said journalist Ermal Peçi in an interview on “News24”.
He also emphasized that this is a diplomatic development that, according to him, has passed in silence, while underlining that ‘this is a stab in the back being done to Kosovo’.
“We have a diplomatic development where Rama together with Vučić have sent a letter to the EU, which was published in one of the newspapers in Germany and they are requesting EU membership by avoiding the rules and standards. This is a betrayal that has been done to Kosovo. The non-recognition of Kosovo is one of the reasons that it has become an obstacle for Serbia. I do not understand why Rama is moving towards this. But one of the problems that Serbia and Albania have is related to justice. But this issue has passed in silence. Our path does not have to be equal with Serbia. The EU has made a stop to Serbia related to the recognition of Kosovo. This mechanism that Rama and Vučić are seeking is harmful,” he said.
He also commented on the opposition protests, for which he stated: “The political system has deformed the social and economic structure of this country. The DP could not break the cordon at the Police Directorate, not even if the country’s prime minister were there at the villa and the police would stop the movement… I think the right does not need violent protests. The DP had the opportunity, even Berisha himself, to turn Enver Hoxha’s house into a museum, so that Albanians could also recognize him. The DP must say that it has a person declared non grata.”
