Reza Pahlavi truly achieved the impossible. Türkiye, which can polarize even on the simplest issue, is seriously a one-punch when it comes to the hatred towards this man.

Of course, I am not saying that Turkish society loves mullahs. In fact, almost an overwhelming majority of them harbor antipathy. The vast majority of Türkiye cannot bear living in Iran, perhaps even for a month; But what I’m talking about is a different phenomenon. Everyone, from leftist to rightist, from religious to non-religious, from Alevi to Sunni, from Turk to Kurd, views Rıza Pahlevi negatively. Perhaps this is a monophony unprecedented in our history. Moreover, each group has different reasons.

For Ataturkists, it is; A figure who has submitted to imperialism, is ready to turn his country into a puppet, and is so rabid that he supports the bombing of his own homeland. It is almost impossible for them to sympathize.

For religious people, the fact that he is someone who visited the wailing wall, swore allegiance to Israel, and applauded the bombing of his country by these forces makes sympathy impossible from the very beginning.

The situation is no different for leftists; Antipathy is extremely high, as he is seen as someone who serves imperialism and has vowed to make Iran a puppet.

For Turkish nationalists, his father’s practices towards the Turkish population in Azerbaijan, the suppression of the Turkish language and uniformist policies make sympathy impossible.

The picture is similar for the Kurds. The policies inherited from his father’s period create the same antipathetic picture for this segment.

Alevis are no different from this picture. Even though their lifestyles are diametrically opposed to the Iranian Shiites, there are even those who do not want the regime in Iran to change due to possible past traumas and they have no sympathy for Riza Pahlavi.

Indeed, neither Trump nor Netanyahu could achieve this level of antipathy. To me, this situation sends a clear message that the antipathy towards Riza Pahlavi, whom Türkiye sees as a traitor, surpasses the antipathy towards Trump and Netanyahu, who seem to be working for their own country, even if they destroy the whole world. Someone who is thought to have sold his homeland is considered the most despicable in our society. Crimes such as murder, thieves, etc. lag behind treason in the eyes of society.

  2. Molla rejiminden ayri yorumlanabilir biri degil.
