Within the framework of his official visit to Serbia from March 4 to March 6, leading a high-level delegation that includes several officials and representatives from government sectors, Taher El-Baour, the Tripoli government’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held a bilateral meeting yesterday in the Serbian capital Belgrade with Marko Đurić, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia.
The bilateral meeting addressed Libyan Serbian relations across various fields.
– Serbia announced during the talks the opening of a consular affairs office at the Serbian Embassy in Tripoli next May.
– Serbian announced the activation of an air route between Tripoli and Belgrade soon.
– Both sides agreed to activate the Libyan Serbian Joint Committee.
– They also discussed aspects of Libya’s participation in Expo 2027, scheduled to be held in the Serbian capital Belgrade from 15 May to 15 August 2027.
– Libya announced it will provide scholarships and study places for Serbian students to study the Arabic language.
– Serbia announced it will provide scholarships to Libyan students to study at universities and to learn the Serbian language.
– Marko Đurić, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, affirmed the Serbian government’s support for Libya’s Tripoli government and its efforts to achieve security, stability, and development in Libya, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the coming period.
– Both sides affirmed their commitment to continuing joint efforts to develop bilateral relations and to intensify communication, coordination, and political consultations in the coming period in a way that strengthens the partnership between the two countries.
– Both sides discussed the prospects of Libyan Serbian relations and ways to strengthen and further develop them and enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields.
