Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia met on 6 March 2026 at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade with the Imam of Herzegovina, Husein Efendi Hodžić.
At the beginning of the meeting, Patriarch Porfirije welcomed Imam Husein to the Serbian capital and to the Patriarchate, noting that he is a friend of the Serbian Orthodox Church and its faithful.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on issues concerning the life of religious communities and highlighted the importance of mutual respect, understanding, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence among peoples and followers of different religions.
Also present were Muhamed Jusufspahić, President of the Supreme Assembly of the Islamic Community of Serbia, and Protopresbyter Đorđe Stojisavljević, Head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch.
