If there’s an anti-war demonstration which calls out the brutal behavior of the USA and Israel, that’s fine and healthy.

But who would mourn the Iranian ayatollah, one of the worst dictators of modern times?

I wonder how many people would show up for such an event. Last time there were about 100 people showing up for one of his generals. What is going on in these people’s heads?

Humans. That’s all, we are a really fickle and strange species at times lol.
More exact answer. Contrarians. Got to be for what the majority is against etc.

    2. A wake for trump would also attract people, while he just bombed a school with children.

The people coming to the kinds of events tend to focus on other parts of their ‘idol’s achievements.

They often also get their information from other sources that focus more on ‘good’ deeds. And ignore the ‘evil propaganda’ from the other side.

These people are thus often not crazy, but their worldview is completely different from ours as they have been surrounded by different info.

Although I do find it positive that this action is prohibited, limiting the spread and strengthening if this misinformed worldview.

    3. America and it’s puppets will never forgive Khamenei for stopping the ISIS takeover of Iraq and Syria

      Rust in Vrede!

      It’s not *that* strange.

A lot of people who are born and raised here their entire life that they don’t belong here. That they’re immigrants. That they’re not real Belgians.
So even though they were born and raised here, and have Belgian nationality, they still don’t feel like they belong.

And that is *incredibly* destabilizing for people. Having the feeling that you don’t belong in the place you call home? Terrible.

As such, a lot of these people end up developing a weird idealistic and nostalgic image of the home country of their parents. And also the leaders of that country.

Look at our Turkish community and their support for Erdogan. People with Turkish heritage voted for Erdogan in higher numbers here in Belgium than people that actually live in Turkey.

Why would these people embrace such a brutal dictator while they live in pluralistic Belgium? Because Belgium doesn’t make them feel welcome. Belgium doesn’t make them feel like they belong. Erdogan does. Emphatically so. Erdogan makes them feel like they matter in his rhetoric.

Same with people with Iranian heritage. They never experienced how bad it was/is outside of maybe a few vacations there. But since they don’t feel accepted here, they try and find it elsewhere. In the Iranian regime.

It’s not surprising that people who are rejected by their country of birth go out and try and find another community that does accept them.

    5. Freedom of speech and all that. While i disagree with what they say, its my belief that they should be allowed to say it.

      Security is another matter, naturally.

Would be nice if they were allowed so you could pick them all up and throw them out the country.

    7. Just let it be. And get all non belgians on the first flight to Iran. They will love them there.

    8. Ze mogen een wake houden voor hun ayatollah, als ik in de naastliggende panden een wake mag houden voor onze goede vriend Dolfje, en aan de andere kant voor de slachtoffers van 7 oktober. Deal? “freedom of speech and all that”

What kind of people? Take a walk around the area and you’ll see how many are clad in full hardcore islamic gear. I’m sure it absolutely does not reflect their mindset in any way whatsoever and they’re only thinking of how to pay my pension, but still.

I would like the terrorism cells to check on these people requesting these wakes for a mass murderer.

If they are Iranians, deport them back to Iran, they can go live with their Ayatollah there.
