    Submission statement:

The United States and Israel discuss sending special forces to Iran to secure its stockpile of enriched uranium.
I was under the impression that their stockpiles were supposed to be destroyed when the enrichment halls were struck during 12-day war?

  2. There’s some reports floating around about a tunnel they could use. If that’s the case presumably Iran could use it to get the uranium out (if they haven’t already). Otherwise, they’re going to have to dig out the tunnel entrances that everyone was so focused on last year, and special forces won’t be doing that alone or in a brief time period.

They are going to need more than special forces and they know it. Also, they just announced it to everybody so there’s that. It’s clear these people have no idea what they’ve gotten themselves into. This war is political suicide for the administration

When a new anchor is made a Defense Secretary, you will get a lot of sensational declarations. Already in the press conferences he has been insufferable making bravado statements almost like a skit. This specific one seems another such line. Not sure if they are planning to take a Uber to get this done.

    So this is plan C.

How heavy is Iran’s nuclear stockpile? Are we talking a carry on suitcase or a convoy of trucks?

Things like this are being put out there only to detect where exactly the American public is positioning the red line.

They need to know how far they can push before the political pressure against this shitshow will reach the boiling point.

There is no way to exctract that material with just an SF operation.
Boots on the ground is what they need, to try bring Iran into submission. Or, they’ll try hard to Balkanize it into chaos by triggering an ethnic conflict inside the Country.

Either that, or US are going to lose this war.

So many comments in here and not a single one that understands how intelligence works. This could all be one giant psy op from the CIA to get them to make a mistake.

The bigger picture to getting rid of Iran is to finally have no more enemies for the West in the Middle East. That makes focusing on China much much easier. Since most of Iran’s oil is going to China you are already seeing the impact. The PLA Air Force suddenly stopped making regular incursions into Taiwanese airspace.

I guess this admin has never heard the saying, “don’t interpret your adversary while they are making a mistake”.
