Korea and Australia look to bounce back from losses to Japan in their last Pool C games on Monday.
Australia is trying to keep moving up the Pool C rankings to catch Japan when it faces off against Korea early Monday morning in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Australia is in second place with a 2-1 record in Pool C from the Tokyo Dome in Japan. The team is behind the Japanese squad, which is undefeated in pool play with a 3-0 record. Korea needs this win even more than Australia, which will likely have to win out to make any noise and move on to the next round. Korea is fourth in Pool C with a 1-2 record. Japan was always the favorite to win this pool, but Korea had the best next odds. Australia nearly defeated Japan in its last game on Sunday, but came up just short, losing 4-3.
