This whole anti Ukraine spat is clearly linked to the approaching elections.
To my hungarian friends: Is this working? Is the bullying of a country fighting for its survival scoring election points for the Fidesz?

Any undeclared values entering or leaving the country above 1000 euro are lawfuly seized and become property of the state.
The law applies to anybody, including ukrainians.

Orban is trying to speed run an emergency, so he can postpone or cancel the elections. He is scared.
the legislation has some odd sections , it allows secret information collection against political parties.
it is not about the money , and I am sure the next hungarian government will give it back.
My dad, a Moldovan born in the Soviet Union, was sent to Hungary for his military service, and told me the country was very developed compared to USSR. Now 45 years later and it slowly becomes the shithole of Europe.
If they steal it, just level that pipeline, then level it even more.
Ukraine should slap interest on that money. Hungary is going to pay it back sooner or later.
