The number of anti-Semitic incidents in Switzerland remained at a high level in 2025. While there was a significant decline in the real world, the Federation of Jewish Communities registered a sharp increase in online antisemitism.
Almost 2,200 incidents were recorded online, according to the anti-Semitism report published on Tuesday by the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities (SIG) and the Foundation against Racism and Anti-Semitism. In the previous year, there had been around 1600. This corresponds to an increase of around 37 percent.
Two thirds of online incidents were posted on the Telegram messaging platform, followed by comment columns in online newspapers. Anti-Semitic content could be found on all major social media platforms.
In the real world, anti-Semitic incidents fell by almost 20 percent to 177. Five assaults, 42 insults, 80 anti-Semitic statements and 28 smearings were reported.
