
The plan aims to create a systematic mechanism for securing Belarus’ position as a reliable trade and economic partner on the African continent that provides modern and competitive goods, services, technologies and expertise. Its objectives are to develop a set of efficient political, trade, economic, logistical and humanitarian instruments to promote Belarus’ interests in on the continent, as well as build strong ties with African countries.
The document outlines promising areas for co-operation, goods of export interest, and means of achieving objectives it sets. African countries have been prioritised in terms of the level of co-operation with a view of their diplomatic representation, the nature of bilateral political, trade, economic and humanitarian relations, the economic potential of partner countries and the existence of joint projects underway. The research defined three groups among 54 African countries: focal points, promising countries, and countries of targeted initiatives.
“Indicators for goods and services exports to African countries for 2026-2030 are key aspects of the plan. These indicators have been developed across the focal points, promising countries and the last group and provide for assigning increased export targets to relevant ministries, concerns and state committees,” the message reads.
The plan aims to increase the total value of goods and services exported to Africa to around $1.5bn by 2030.
“The action plan will provide a systematic approach to strengthening co-operation with African countries and expanding the supply of Belarusian products to the continent,” the press service said in a statement.
