As the U.S. and Israel continue their airstrikes on Iran, North Korea has carried out its second missile test in a week in a further display of its nuclear weapons capabilities.

On Wednesday North Korean media released images of the country’s leader, Kim Jong-un, and his daughter Ju-ae overseeing the missile test the previous day from what appeared to be a situation room.

The two were seen monitoring the launch through screens from the Choe Hyon, the country’s biggest warship under construction.

North Korean media also released images of what they called strategic cruise missiles blasting into the air, claiming the projectiles succeeded in hitting targets off the west coast.

Kim reportedly highlighted the multifaceted operational capabilities of his country’s nuclear force.

This came in the wake of media reports that the U.S. is pulling out some of its interceptors from U.S. Forces Korea to fill a potential shortage of weapons in the Middle East theater of command.

Seoul’s presidential office said Wednesday that their removal will not affect the nation’s readiness against the North.
