Ukraine and Romania signed several bilateral agreements during a visit by President Volodymyr Zelensky, including a deal on joint defense production on Romanian territory.

The agreements were announced during a joint briefing by the two presidents following their meeting.

Among the documents signed was a statement on cooperation in producing defense equipment, including drones, in Romania.

The two countries also signed framework agreements on cooperation in the energy sector and a joint declaration establishing a strategic partnership between Ukraine and Romania.

Romanian President Nicușor Dan described the agreements as a “historic moment” during a joint briefing with Zelensky.

The leaders also agreed to build two energy interconnectors between the countries as part of efforts to strengthen regional energy security.
