Obviously, since the orange almost begged the Iranian people to do the job for him

  2. Bishopjones2112 on

Yup, you fucking clowns in the states and Israel jumped on head first with no plan or anything. Now the whole world is dealing with the consequences, thanks.

Duh, it’s become totally clear they just wanted to blow up some muslims that had been pissing them off for a while. They’ve executed their entire ‘plan’, now the whole world has to live with the consequences.

  4. It never ceases to amaze me that a country can literally be at war all over the place for more than half a century either directly or through proxies and still produce a citizenry constantly surprised when we go to war. Regime change is just temporary marketing. Forever war is the subscription we signed up for since we became the global empire in 1945.

And conervatoids yelled at me when I said something to that effect hours after the bombing that killed the former Ayatollah. Its literally the same thing I said about capturing Maduro. If we were really in it for the good of the people more would have happened immediately other than just bombing the leader/spirting away the leader. Infrastructure would have been hit, munitions depots, air strips, bases.

Instead we struck the home of the ayatollah, and double tapped a girls school killing about 200 innocent people, mostly children.

Going in guns blazing to take out a head of state does virtually nothing to the extant regime. The people get to celebrate for a day or two before the crackdown begins anew.

This boils down to the fact that Israel and the U.S saw an opportunity to kill a good chunk of Iranian leadership including Khamenei and they took it.

Everything after that was an afterthought.

    > Israel did not have a realistic plan for regime change when it attacked Iran, multiple Israeli security sources have said, with expectations that airstrikes could lead to a popular uprising having been driven by “wishful thinking” rather than hard intelligence.

I expected Trump and his band of idiots to not have a plan, but didn’t expect Israeli to do the same. So the US [(with MBS of Saudi Arabia pushing Trump to do it behind the scenes)](https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2026/02/28/trump-iran-decision-saudi-arabia-israel/) and Israeli started a war with no plan to change the regime and now we also know from Senator Chris Murphy, [following the briefing Congress got from the Pentagon yesterday, that the Trump administration is not seeking to destroy Iran’s nuclear weapons programme, nor force regime change in the country.](https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/11/world/middleeast/iran-war-costs-pentagon.html)

So what I am getting is the US and Israeli just totally winged this thing because they saw a chance to finally kill Khamenei, an 86 year old with prostate cancer, along with other leaders and were likely betting this would be over in a few days because Iran would just take it lying down.

I wonder if this ends up with Rubio being made to walk the plank?

There is no way Trump will ever admit he made a mistake, so if he comes to realise its a giant error he can’t get himself out of, he’ll need someone to blame. He’s close circle of highly trained and skilled real estate developers are probably safe, not least because they fall under Kushner

Rubio is a potential successor, which means there is bound to be a faction supporting Vance whispering in Trumps ear that its all Rubio’s fault

Can I play on a technicality?

We permanently retired the Ayatollah that had governed for decades. Technically … we did conduct a regime change. Maybe not as extensively as we had hoped but we did.

  10. Actions like this can have consequences far beyond what anyone initially anticipates

  11. JohnBrownSurvivor on

Oh, Trump has a clear plan for regime change. Just not for regime change in Iran. He attacked Iran as part of his plan for regime change in the United States. You know from that terrible awful horrible regime of democracy, to his much better regime of he gets rich and we all die.

  12. Canuck-overseas on

All of this is merely accelerating the arrival of the China Century. Bring it on.

  13. What exactly does Israel know about regime change that actually gets to their desired final destination. Just look at what Israel has been doing in Lebanon for decades, and Lebanon is still a total mess.

  14. Regime change is a “nice to have”.

Degradation of Iranian offensive capacity is the must-have. This part has been planned out.

  15. Literally the worst people out there. “Hi, could I have one order of destabilized region, please?”

  16. TheComplimentarian on

Well, they would fucking know since it was apparently their fucking plan.

  17. There’s no plan for regime change because they plan to destroy the entire country like they did Gaza

  18. revolution110 on

They hoped once they killed out the leader, the people will rise and force a regime change .

They lost out on that when they decided to shoot missiles at Irans infrastructure, oil depots and killing and hurting people of Iran.

  19. So bascially this whole shitshow was nothing but a waste of time, money and human lives. All just because our fucking prime minister wanted to get his god damn ToTaL vIcToRy and keep his ass out of jail. God I fucking hate this.

  20. I keep seeing about how Americans are reacting to this, but no one has mentioned what Isrealis think about this? How are they not as fed up with Bibi as we are with Trump?

  21. FalseZookeepergame15 on

Well the cat is out of the bag now and only innocent people will be the casualties of this stupid war.

  22. Really just feels like the hawks were tired of waiting after multiple decades and decided to just kick the hornets nest to see what would happen. Great plan guys! Like a bunch of kids.

  23. DecimusMeridiusMax on

They don’t want to change the regime, they wanted to collapse the country into a Syria type failed state.

  24. This is not about the regime change, but the regime sure did change 🤦🏽‍♂️

  25. Israels goal has always been to drag the US into Iran and make them fully committed to suppressing Iran. So their goal is simply to make Iran less able to develop nukes and influence the region. So I think for Israel, making Iran and the US eternal enemies was the real goal the whole time. As long as the US needs to fight Iran, Israel is their great friend.

If the US actually smarted up and focused on Russia and China, then Israel would be less relevant.

  26. Dinosushipizza on

So basically they caused hundreds of deaths of innocent people, many who are children, simply cause of wishful thinking? Do they not realise they might have just inspired future retaliation on their own people, which may lead to more deaths of innocent people??
