CHP Chairman Özgür Özel’s "Let the IMM case be broadcast live" Although AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had previously said ‘yes’ to the proposal, AKP and MHP deputies voted against the proposal in the Parliament.

While CHP had been demanding the case be broadcast live on TRT since the beginning of the investigation, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had given the green light to this. Bahçeli last reiterated his call for live broadcast at the group meeting he held the day before. Bahceli, "Were we wrong when we said that the hearings should be broadcast live on TV? It should be ensured that the decision is finalized within the most reasonable time and removed from the country’s agenda, without allowing it to prolong further." he said. Erdoğan left the question about Bahçeli’s call unanswered.

On the other hand, Erdoğan, in his statement on July 9, 2025, said about Bahçeli’s live broadcast: “If Mr. Bahçeli used something like this, in my opinion, it is a very good appreciation. Let’s say it will be beneficial, hopefully.”
