We lived in a rented apartment in Switzerland for 3 years. When we inspected the apartment, we were told verbally that a small scratch in the parquet in the living room would cost around 50-100 CHF.
Now we have received the final bill and 200 CHF was charged for it.
You can see the scratch in the photo (ruler next to it for size).
Do you think 200 CHF for such a small scratch after 3 years of use is reasonable or rather excessive?

In meinen Augen nicht, nein. Schau mit deiner Haftpflicht was die dazu sagen.
Nach drei Jahren werden die sowieso das Parkett polieren müssen. Dann ist der Kratzer sicher weg.
Normale Abnutzung.
Freundliche Erinnerung, sich beim Mieterverband anzumelden. Selbst wenn man es nicht braucht, es ist eine gute Sache. (Ich habe keine Verbindungen zum Verband)
Ne, keine Chance, dass du dafuer aufkommen musst, ausser du hast dem zugestimmt.
Reib mal eine Walnuss drüber (Die Nuss ohne Schale) und polier mit einem lappen nach. Kann sein das verschwindet

This is sometimes the case that the landlord will find excuses to invoice you. I had once a complaint that the light in a room was broken and he wanted to invoice me 120CHf to let an electrician come and replace it. I went back and did it myself (replaced with a normal light bulb). It’s bonkers.
Du zahlst Miete für die Nutzung dieser Wohnung. Alle Schäden, die mit einer “normalen” Nutzung verbunden sind, sind durch die Miete abgegolten. Dieser Kratzer gehört absolut dazu. Zu 10’000%!
Contest it. I did way worse both with things falling on the floor and with sofa and armchair in my previous flat. The answer was:
“ja, Das ist normal, keine Sorge”
Ja – wenn Du ihn nicht selber rauskriegst.
Massiver langer Kratzer, keine gewöhnliche Abnutzung für 2 Jahre mit Socken übers Parkett laufen oder Stuhl verschieben. Würdest Du als vermietende Partei vermutlich auch nicht so übernehmen / belassen wollen.
Im Zweifelsfall: Mieterverband / Haftpflicht.
During my Uni days I briefly worked with a major house moving company. When wood furniture was scratched, the lead guy would take some petroleum jelly and spread a small amount on it. Apparently, the petroleum jelly would elevate the scratch and it looked good as new.
After looking at your scratch, it looks like a light brushing with the back of one of those sponges would do the trick by lightly using the green back of the sponge. If that doesn’t work, the petroleum jelly should.
So this is what I’ve done. Try a small part first. I’d use the sponge method on a few cm’s then the other if that doesn’t work. If all else fails, guess you’re responsible for the 200chf. Good luck.
