  1. Approaching the phase where the aides throw each other under the bus. Success has many authors but failure is an orphan.

  2. Right now, it’s particularly clear just how incompetent the Trump administration is. They didn’t try to replenish the national oil reserves before the war, nor did they anticipate that Iran might block the Strait of Hormuz, nor did they arrange to have minesweepers transported to the Persian Gulf. Trump and his entire team in the White House are just a bunch of utterly incompetent idiots who are only interested in how they can increase their own wealth.

Trump in shock – and I can’t wait for Landman season 3 – it is gonna be wild

It was also great to see him up on stage at a rally dancing around while American soldiers are dying.

  5. “Aides quietly panic” has been the most consistent part of the Trump administration since day one.

  6. I have yet to see anyone in this administration panic. They would have to give a shit and think there would be consequences for their actions. They think nothing will catch up to them and that this government only exists to make them wealthy at the cost of everything else.

“It also could go on for months, in one fashion or another. It could escalate to the United States introducing some ground troops, saying that is the only possible way to open the Strait of Hormuz. If it doesn’t work—if Iran doesn’t back down from cutting off that oil access—then we might see American, and perhaps even European and other forces try to force it open, and the war could still be going months from now. So I really don’t know. I just know that there is absolutely no path forward from here that is not highly disruptive and leaves things worse off than before he made this decision.”

People are shocked? When you have a sphincter in the middle of a fat orange face, you really can only expect shit to come out of it.

  9. Trump has no approach to this fiasco. He just all caps screams on truth social whatever it was that he last heard from one of his MAGA sycophants or anything he reads on that platform. He has no idea how to get out of this or what comes next, he’s just flailing in the wind.

  10. He’s so used to criticism, I’m sure he doesn’t care. If anything, he’s probably happy people are momentarily distracted from the fact that he’s a child rapist.

This is Trump’s 1938 moment. The miscalculation this time being that Europe will NOT join the war. Another fascist gamble lost.

His aides need to do something more than quietly panic. It’s time to use the 25th amendment to remove a person with dementia from office.

I would like a literal description of what it looks like when an aid panics in silence

Hate these headlines that make it appear they are afraid of consequences… they aren’t, they’re evil and dumb

  14. I usually argue that presidents have little direct control over oil prices…but this time, right now, you can draw a direct line from Trump+’s actions to oil price increases. “I did that”

  15. Republican voters are motivated strictly by resentment and hate (with a dash of cruelty). Therefore truth and reason are irrelevant to them and it is useless to try and alter their thinking by employing either. They are simply not good, decent people and the only reasonable approach to dealing with them is to work to limit the damage they can do to our country.

  16. Trump can’t figure out how to bully the oil market. The flames of hell are begging god to hurry up with this one.

This is his Covid moment but instead of having a knowledgeable lead like fauci he has a man who fakes bench presses.

  18. I need these November elections like next week. I fear the average American attention span is too short.

Doing all of this without a real plan and from the hip is absolutely within the character of these jokers. But we all, even me, thought they would not, or be advised not to, *ACTUALLY* do it. And they have. I don’t know if I can think of another improvised act in 200 years of history by a government that will have such wide-ranging destructive consequences.

Mfer has been living in a consequence free environment his entire life. I think he’s simply incapable of comprehending that actions have consequences that can’t be made to go away by throwing a pile of money at it. He’s just another spoiled, rich nepo baby. Completely unfit for any position of leadership. I wouldn’t even trust the jackass to run a single department of a Walmart.

  21. > “is the largest Oil Producer in the World, by far, so when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money.”

Oil is sold on the world market. The United States doesn’t own that oil, we simply tax the large oil companies that are *actually* making the money selling that oil on the world market. It’s not the United States’ oil, FFS.

So, when he says “We”, he means himself and other large oil company executives.

**NOT YOU.** **You** just pay more at the gas pump.

So far, he’s been surprised that Iran struck its neighbors, that it had as large a navy as it does (would say did, but they seem to keep bringing boats out after Donnie claims to have obliterated 90% of it, or whatever), and that they would even think of using the Strait of Hormuz offensively. But we should absolutely believe him when he says they KNOW where the sleeper cells are in this country? After the blind sweeps in MN neighborhoods and Home Depot parking lots? And we got hit twice just yesterday? SMFH

The combination of dementia, sociopathy, and a low IQ really makes quite the fecal cocktail.

  24. He. Does. Not. Care.

He doesn’t CARE about the Republican Party. He doesn’t care about the economy. He doesn’t care about national security. He’s a walking one man multinational corporation. He doesn’t need American votes again. Our opinions do not matter.

Ironic seeing how CNN and Fox tries to keep the blame neatly tied to the word “Government” for this mess instead of directly calling out the Trump Administration for this. Years of deflecting blame on the very people that warn exactly on why and how much a certain strategy has broad implications. Maybe Mark Twain was right, except this time it’s whole party -“Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.”.

dude is going to destroy the global economy and Congress is going to watch it happen thinking they won’t be get blamed.

Every sitting member needs to be primaried. The last 25 years has produced the most ineffectual while also being the most self-destructive time in US history.
