Greetings from a Latvian! 😊 Letterboxd (the film logging platform) have published an official list of Lithuanian films that are most highly rated on the platform: https://boxd.it/T9rgE

Is this a good list to use as a resource to watch more of LT films? I’ve seen five of these so far: The Beauty/GražuolÄ— (which I need to rewatch properly, because it didn’t have subtitles), Summer Survivors, Nova Lituania, Hunger Strike Breakfast/Badautojų namelis, and Runner.

I want to see more Lithuanian and Estonian films, because I really like cinema, and unfortunately we often don’t know enough about what is happening in each other’s culture. However, this list is of films that’s ranked by ratings of international audiences, which might prefer one type of film or another (and also it includes only films that have at least 200 ratings). Is there anything missing that you would recommend? They recently published a top of Latvian films too, if anyone’s interested: https://boxd.it/T2Hko

    1. hey, nice to see Latvian. Congratulations on the “Flow” awards. Didnt know this list existed, latvian looked interesting too. Im lithuanian and out of the movies here several recommendations.
the first one is “Pietinia kronikas”(, it is based on books and was well liked by people I know. the book is also very good. also it is estonian/lithuanian co production, so this movie a bit of a new baltic baby.
also a “Ekskursante”, movie focuses on the times when people were exiled to siberia and young girls story.
those two I recommend from my heart.
