South Korea’s nationwide average gasoline price continued to decline Sunday, the third day since fuel price caps took effect.
According to Opinet, the Korea National Oil Corporation’s oil-price information system, the average gasoline price stood at one-thousand-842 won per liter as of 11 a.m., down three won from the previous day.
Diesel fell four won to one-thousand-843 won per liter, narrowing the gap with gasoline to nearly zero.
Fuel prices in Seoul, the most expensive region in the country, also trended downward.
The average gasoline price in the capital dropped two-point-94 won from the previous day to one-thousand-865-point-two won per liter, while diesel fell one-point-74 won to one-thousand-854-point-63 won.
Domestic fuel prices, which had surged following the outbreak of the war between the United States and Iran, began falling after peaking Tuesday, though the pace of the decline slowed Sunday compared with the previous day.
