Detail: Over the course of the month, engineering units in the Ukrainian military killed 678 Russian soldiers and destroyed 120 weapons and pieces of military equipment, as well as 19 other Russian targets. The command explained that most mining operations are conducted remotely using unmanned systems. This method of deploying mines reduces the risk to Defence Forces personnel.

“Previously bomb disposal experts were forced to work manually in dangerous areas, but now unmanned systems enable tasks to be carried out faster, more accurately and significantly more safely,” the Support Forces Command said. “Strikes on enemy equipment and personnel are recorded in real time, and all confirmed targets are entered into the Delta situational awareness system, which ensures the objectivity and reliability of the data.”
Engineer troops mine Russian military logistics routes remotely, which, in addition to killing Russian soldiers, helps to block Russian forces’ routes, the command said.

Last July it was reported that Ukraine had withdrawn from the Ottawa Convention, which bans the use of anti-personnel mines.

The Ministry of Defence has expanded the technical requirements for the production of mines deployed from UAVs with regard to devices used to initiate explosive charges.
