Police are trying to determine what caused the fire at a capsule hotel in Seoul’s Jung District on Saturday that left ten foreigners injured.
The Seoul Namdaemun Police Station gathered debris on Sunday from the spot where the fire is believed to have started and sent it to the National Forensic Service for analysis, which is expected to take up to two months.
The fire occurred around 6:10 p.m. Saturday on the third floor of the seven-floor building in Sogong-dong.
The fire was put out after some three and a half hours.
Authorities found that installing sprinklers was not mandatory for the mixed-use building built in 1995.
