Filipino-Italian alpine skier Francis Ceccarelli finished strong in his International Ski Federation (FIS) campaign in Southern Europe, collecting eight podium finishes in slalom and giant slalom races in Montenegro following his debut at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The 22-year-old skier, who represented the Philippines at the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, enjoyed a productive week in Kolasin, highlighted by a gold medal performance in the giant slalom at the National Junior Championships.

Ceccarelli topped the event ahead of fellow Milan-Cortina Olympians Branislav Petrovic and Harutyun Harutyunyan.
“I try to bring the Philippine ski high and I am honoured to represent it. Thank you for supporting me and now we are ready for next races,” Ceccarelli wrote on social media.
His medal haul included silvers in the Montenegro National Championships slalom and the FIS Kolasin slalom on March 9.
He added a bronze medal in the National Junior Championships slalom and another bronze in the FIS Kolasin slalom races held on March 10 and 11.
Ceccarelli also finished second in the Montenegro National Championships giant slalom before claiming gold in the National Junior Championships giant slalom on March 12.
He capped the week with two more gold medals in the Entry League FIS slalom races on March 13.
