Among all the other reasons which will be mentioned by the others, I would add: **own currency**.

  2. Thanks to the enormous dedication and incredible work ethic of ordinary people. I would say that they sacrificed too much, which is visible in the fertility rates in Poland.

We have to work hard to choose a terrible president and prime minister, they will make our county worse and waste money, then we work even harder, and the cycle continues

  4. As once said by a famous polish poet: “Jak do tego doszÅ‚o, nie wiem…” /s

Because of cheap labor and because most of everything here was sold to German, American and French companies.
Now we are kind of half-colony owned by Western countries with low labor costs, almost no taxes for foreign investors and without ambitions to break free like many Asian economies did.
So, most of that is made by German owned companies being contractors for German corporations.

Fake data, or as mathematicians say here *statystyka to kurwa, każdemu się da*

If you tweak data pool or questions properly – you can prove anything.

GDP is known to be really poor measurement of actual condition of the country.

Good start* + proximity to Germany

*Strong civil society (big independent union, Catholic Church), lustration laws, more power for the army than secret services

  8. As of recent? 1 milion of Ukrainians. Without them Poland would not be in top 20 for awhile
