This fee structure is absurd.

Parked briefly, left almost immediately, total parking time was 2 minutes. The actual parking cost? €0.09. Fair enough.

    But here’s the kicker:

    – Parking: €0.09

    – Transaction fee: €0.45

    – Total: €0.54

So the fee is 5x the actual parking cost.

I get that apps need to make money, but this pricing model makes zero sense for short stays. A flat fee punishes anyone who parks briefly. Why not charge a percentage instead? Or at least use a “percentage OR flat fee (whichever is lower)” model?

Right now it just feels like you’re being penalized for using the app the way it’s supposed to be used.

why are you paying for 2 minutes of parking?

I think the fee is a fixed rate and so it makes sense when you stay for an hour and you pay a few Euros park and $0.40 of fees.

    2. It’s not like the fee is hidden though.

As it’s fixed it will be less interesting for small durations and more interesting for longer durations.

In many parking zones you can park for free if you only want to park for 15-20 minutes.

You can choose the free session in the app too.

It wasn’t possible in the zone where you parked ?

Genuine question: is there any alternative app to 4411 that doesn’t charge a fee?

      It makes perfect sense though.

They have a flat fee of 45 cents with a free parking session of 15-20 minutes, in which case you pay nothing. You have to specifically choose this though.

They don’t profit off of the amount of time you are parked, they only make money through the transaction fee. In the end, they couldn’t care less if you parked for 2 minutes or 5 hours, they have to process the exact same thing.

If the option is not available, then take it up with the city. So in the end it is either user error or the city should do something about short parking sessions.

These days, there are short session parking spots next to some shops designed to allow you to stay for free for 15-30 min.

    6. If you park in Kortrijk, you can pay via http://www.parko.be. That way, you won’t have to pay any transaction fees. In most cities, you can pay through the parking management organization’s website without incurring any extra costs.

Om niet voor verassingen te kunnen staan lees ik altijd alle 92 pagina’s van de voorwaarden. 🤷‍♂️

Lmao, the company I used to work for charged both a flat fee and a percentage.

Agree but it’s either the fee or a fine 🤷🏻‍♂️
      The choice is your’s.
      It’s a free world 🌍

    10. I’m affraid this one is on you. You changed your mind after committing to the rate.

Same goes for litterly any service that has a start-up or fixed administrative fee. You want to rent a Lime/Bolt electrical scooter? Charging your EV at a public charger that has a connection fee? Make an intercontinental phone call? The shorter the session, the harder that fixed part will outweight the consumption based part.

If you used a € 1 coin instead, that money would be gone as well.

I dont agree that it makes no sense. It’s more that you only see your perspective.

As there is a transaction of 9 cents, a payment provider needs to be involved and they also ask for a fee. Often fixed price per transaction + %.

People feel way too entitled about how everything should only help them, for free or otherwise companies that bring the value are the a*s of the world.

    12. +1 for the 1 EUR, you pay for the service. I surely prefer to pay 0,45, than say 10 % on every parking…..

    13. I once paid by sending an sms. I got an immediate reply that for some reason it wasnt accepted. Still had the ridiculous fee for the sms though.
I dont have a car anymore but planning on getting one again soonish. I definitely need to figure out some alternatives to them because even though the amount is small i felt completely ripped off
