  1. The Pentagon is seeking $200 billion in additional funds for the Iran war, a senior administration official says.

The department sent the request to the White House, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the private information.

It’s an extraordinarily high number and comes on top of extra funding the Defense Department already received last year in President Donald Trump’s big tax cuts bill.

Congress is bracing for a new spending request but it is not clear the White House has transmitted the request for consideration. It is unclear the spending request would have support.

The new funding request was first reported by The Washington Post. Asked about the figure at a press conference Thursday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth did not directly confirm the figure, saying it could change. But he said “we’re going back to Congress and our folks there to to ensure that we’re properly funded.”

“It takes money to kill bad guys,” Hegseth said.

So long as Trump and Co. get their cut of the transfer, exclusive contracts and future mineral rights. Otherwise, it just doesn’t seem fair that they are putting all this overtime in and directing the whole thing without getting compensated. At least 20% of all future revenue should be going to those proxy accounts. That is a bargain too, in some countries they charge “half or prison”.

  4. If only they would give that kind of funding to kill the main bad guys invading ukraine currently…

  5. Joe Kent, director of US National CounterTerrorism, in Portland, Oregon, resigned to protest against the US-Israel war against Iran.

In his resignation letter to Donald Trump, Joseph Kent said ‘Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.’ 👉AIPAC (and never forget ADL)

Joseph Kent said the Islamic Republic posed no imminent threat to the United States. “I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran.”

As an ex-Green Beret who served multiple combat tours, and a member of the ** SUCKERS & LOSERS ** according to Trump, Joseph Kent wrote a resignation letter to Trump stating that:

“Until June of 2025, you understood that the wars in the Middle East were a trap that robbed America of the precious lives of our Patriots and depleted the wealth and prosperity of our Nation.”

And he dramatically continues, by writing on that same letter:

“Early in this administration, high-ranking Israeli officials and influential members of the American media deployed a misinformation campaign that wholly undermined your America First platform and sowed pro-war sentiments to encourage a war against Iran.”

“This echo chamber was used to deceive you into believing that Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States of America, and that should you strike now, there was a clear path to a swift victory.”

“This was a lie and it is the same tactic the Israelis used to draw us into the disastrous Iraq war that cost our nation the lives of thousands of our best men and women.

I cannot support sending the next generation off to fight and die in a war that serves NO benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives.”

Last week, Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Senator who attended a two-hour briefing on the White House’s current aims for the conflict said the USA administration is not seeking to destroy Iran’s nuclear weapons programme, nor force regime change in the country, and Trump is unable to “defend this war in public”.

Iran’s regime will likely remain in power, USA intelligence has said, despite almost three weeks of US-Israeli attacks on the country.

Although Trump and Netanyahu have vowed to destroy Iran until a change of government is achieved, a multitude of intelligence reports provide “consistent analysis that the regime is not in danger” of collapse.

This war aligns neatly with Israel’s long‑standing desire to take Iran “off the geopolitical chessboard”. However, Trump was warned that attacking Iran could trigger strikes against USA Gulf allies, according to a US official and two sources familiar with US intelligence reports.
